Community Website Receives EMRC Community Grant
To allow the Gidgegannup Community Website to move from using an older offline database software, we recently applied for an EMRC Community Grant to help fund a change that will allow a number of approved Editors to be able to help our Webmaster in better keeping the website up to date. Fortunately, we have been advised that we were successful in our application.
Some of the funds will also be used in training some of our Committee to take over some of the day to day content editing. We are most grateful for this assistance from the EMRC in the form of a cheque for $1,500 that will be presented as part of a small award ceremony at the Red Hill Waste and Recycling facility on Friday 19 Oct 2018.
Brand New Facility for West Gidge Fire Brigade
The WA Government has today announced a record $1.13 million will be invested in a brand new facility for the West Gidgegannup Bush Fire Brigade.
The funding is the largest ever investment in a stand-alone volunteer bushfire brigade facility in Western Australia’s history.
The new purpose-built facility will house four appliances and include incident control and radio rooms.
It will be spread across 400 square metres and was a result of a collaboration between the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the City of Swan and the West Gidgegannup Bush Fire Brigade.
