CWA · Update July 2016

The Small Farm Field Day was very successful. Our hard work paid off with all our homemade cakes and slices, preserves and knitting selling well. Of course, the great scones with jam and cream always a success.

From now on we will be busy replenishing our stocks, mainly for the Gidgegannup Show in October. Our Op shop sales went very well also. If you are having a clean out of your clothes, we accept goods, clean and in good condition on Wednesdays 10am - 2pm.

Some of our members are making fiddle rugs for the elderly at Tuouy Nursing Home in Midland.

As well as re-stocking our shop, in the meantime, our next project is knitting beanies for the children at Ronald McDonald House. If anyone would like to help us out and knit some beanies that would be greatly appreciated. The children love bright colours and aged from 4-8yrs.

Shirley and Lorraine attended the morning tea for Cancer Council hosted by CWA Wanneroo. It was a very enjoyable morning with delicious food and interesting guest speakers.

If you have any queries please don't hesitate to call us.

Agricultural Society · Update July 2016

Just four months and a bit before the Gidgegannup 70th Anniversary Annual Show takes place and arrangements are coming together nicely.

Anyone interested in having a stall at this year’s show can either find Application Forms on the Gidge Show Website or contact Stephen Williamson at However ground space spots are filling fast and you need to be quick. If an application is made and paid for before 1st August, a "10% Early Bird Discount" will apply.

This year there will again be a special food and drink precinct on the Western side of the ground as well as the traditional area between the Exhibition Hall and Burgo’s Bar.

All the entertainment for this year’s show has been locked into place and there will be some exciting entertainment, particularly on the Bush Verandah where a number of groups will heavily involve children. Watch out for details.

Also a note to those of you with sheep. We do hope that you will reserve some of your fleeces to enter in our Fleece competition. We always get a large number of exhibits but we can always accommodate more, so please if you’re shearing between now and October do think about entering fleeces at the year’s Gidge Show.

Animal Protection Society · Cat Found in Gidgegannup

This handsome boy (APS have called him Sambucca) came to Animal Protection Society from Mundaring Pound. He was found in Gidgegannup and came to us on 13/6/16.

Sambucca - Cat found in Gidgegannup

He was sterilised and microchipped but his chip was not registered. One of the APS' volunteers has managed to trace the chip and found out that it was implanted in Cheshire, England in 2008.

Someone loved this boy enough to bring him all the way from England. We would so love to reunite them if possible. Please contact APS on 9398 6616 or by email.
