Recreational Club · Around the Club

Well another month passed and can tell the seasons are changing as the cricket team has put away its flannels, and the boys are out and running in football gear, and the netballers are running around the courts.

The Basketball Club has its wind-up on the on the 28th of March and has teams in the Grand Finals as we go to press. Congratulations to all players that have competed this season ands those in the finals.

The City of Swan held a workshop on watertanks which was well attended.

Unfortunately the Silent Disco and Film night was a washout. It is now proposed to hold the night on Saturday the 11 April. This will be rain or shine as we will move into the Pavilion to show the movie if it is wet. So set aside the 11th of April for the movie "How to Train your Dragon 2".

Rec Club will be holding the autumn Swap Meet on the 19 of April. Once again a great chance to snag a bargain or sell those unwanted goods that have filled the cupboards and turn them into some readies. The highlight for this writer is the sausage-and-onion sizzle. What could be better on a cool morning than a hot sizzle and coffee??? Just a small slice of heaven.

The City of Swan is holding two sessions on birdwatching in April with a talk on the 15th of April at 5.30 in the Pavilion with a follow-up session and walk at 9am on the 18 of April heading off from the Pavilion.

The Rec Club will continue with the opening of the Pavilion on every second Friday night. Food is available and everyone is welcome. Now Basketball has wound up all those people involved will be able to come down and enjoy time with the rest of the community. Food and a cool one are available. Look forward to seeing you there.

The Rec Club is holding an All Clubs promotion event on Friday the 24 of April. This is a free event with entertainment, food and more provided free to those attending. The Senior football Club will be holding its training that night. This event commences at 5.00pm. So come along and meet your neighbours and get an idea of all the clubs in the area. The TV will also be going so the game will be on the box for viewing.
