Fire Brigades · Total Fire Ban and Severe Fire Danger

A severe fire danger has been forecast for Saturday 29 January. A catastrophic fire danger is likely for Sunday 30 January. Even well prepared properties may be difficult or impossible to defend from bushfire. You should ensure that you are fully ready to implement your Bushfire Survival Plan.

A total fire ban has been declared for the whole South West Land Division, including the City of Swan and surrounding areas for Saturday 29 January. Check 1300 657 209 or the FESA website below for further details. This is almost certain to be extended to Sunday 30 January.

A City of Swan harvest and vehicle movement ban is almost certain to be applied on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January. Listen to ABC 720 at 10:05, 13:05 and 14:05 for details.

Be warned that violating bans can attract a penalty of up to $25,000 and/or 12 months imprisonment, and that ignorance of a ban in force is NOT a legal defence.
