Fire Brigades · Fire Bans, Get it Right

There have been at least 3 days so far this fire season where a Vehicle Movement and Harvest Ban (VMB) has been declared by City of Swan. Feedback from residents is that a majority of them have been unaware of them, and that others have witnessed numerous cases of non compliance. FESA have yet to impose a Total Fire Ban (TFB) in our area although several have been declared in nearby regions this season.

The consequences of non compliance can be devastating as well as expensive to yourselves and your community.

Rural Watch · Suspicious Vehicle

Early this morning (Friday 3 December 2010) a resident observed a Silver Commodore with two occupants (Male & Female, probably in twenties with black T-shirt and moustache (male of course!) loitering along Berry Road (north of Reserve Road). The car had had stopped and the occupants were looking onto a property.

The resident turned the car around and drove back to double check and they had moved on with the passenger then out of the car looking around. The resident then turned around a second time to continue his trip down Berry towards Reserve and of course, passed them a third time; this time to have abuse shouted at him as he drove by. The resident did not stop and could only assume they were up to no good and he may have foiled their plans.

The rego was reported to Police on 13 14 44 and hopefully they will have moved on from our area, but please keep your eyes open. We are well into silly season when the intrusions usually increase.

Report incidents to Police on 131 444. Information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Crime Stoppers website. City of Swan on 9267 9267 (CoS property, verges / reserves etc.).

To try and beat some of the Xmas internet traffic log jams here is the next program segment for Kookaburra. I trust that you find some films of interest in these varied selections but unfortunately nothing much was available in the PG category. There are a couple of films coming along shortly that are PG and we may be able to include in the last segment for the season.

Note that as advised on the first segment the cinema is closed over Xmas and New Year and we wish you all a very safe and happy Xmas.
