Progress Association · Bus Service

It appears that residents of Gidgegannup will not get a Seniors Fuel Card as we live in an Outer Metro area. It has been pointed out that we also have no bus service and despite a Minister suggesting we could catch the one that terminates at Jane Brook, not many people feel like the return journey on foot up Red Hill.

Frank Alban has suggested, that if there is enough interest from Morangup and Gidgegannup, he will see if a Bus Service would be feasible.

The GPA has contacted the Morangup Progress Association to see what demand there is there and we will do the same in Gidgegannup.

What we really need to know is:
- If you would use it?
- When would you use it?

Any information please email to

West Gidge Fire Brigade · Newsletter June 2009

Bushfire activity in Gidge has been very minimal. The Restricted Burning Season has commenced and burning permits are being issued. As a number of burns are likely to occur on any day residents are asked to apply commonsense to reporting smoke/fire. If the fire appears to be a threat or out of control, call 000. If it appears safe but you are concerned about its legality, contact a FCO for your area.

City of Swan · BMX Track

The City of Swan has pointed out that the BMX track at the Gidgegannup Showgrounds is a public facility and must remain open to the public 365 days a year. Booking the Showgrounds for an event does not include that of the BMX area.

Recently the City, the Pony Club and the GPA met to discuss some concerns on the matter and it was decided that the equestrian clubs would be asked to avoid parking too near the track and tie the horses up on the side away from the track. BMX riders would also be asked to be cautious when horses are present.

With a little bit of tolerance on each side hopefully all parties can live together.
