Time has flown and it is now "that" time again with Kookaburra about to again disturb the quiet of the forest at Mundaring.

Attached as a PDF file is the first segment. Trust you enjoy this varied first selection and note that The Band's Visit is partly subtitled as the film has a mixture of 3 languages. Mostly it is in English.

City of Swan · In the Loop

Playground: I have been working with Wendy Seymour our Playground Engineer with plans to upgrade the Playground at the Gidgegannup Showgrounds. After consultation with the community it has progressed. A new 'older children's' playground is also planned and will be situated in the same vicinity.

Swan Hills Place Plan: The City has many Place Plans to develop and/or update. The Swan Hills Place Plan (formerly know as the Gidgegannup/Brigadoon Place Plan) is due for review next financial year. Once the Place Plan is completed, it will open the way to reviewing the Rural Strategy and developing a Structure Plan. It won't happen overnight but it will happen!

Vibrancy: Have you any ideas of how to improve the 'vibrancy' of the Gidgegannup townsite? E.g.: markets, community events, tourism ideas!! ....Give me a call.

WA Police · East Metro Crime Prevention Unit Newsletter

As a result of recent events and projects, it has come to our attention there are many people and groups implementing programs within the district to address various issues. All of these programs are having a positive impact, however many of them appear to run in isolation whilst dealing positively with specific aspects of a situation. The East Metro Crime Prevention Unit (EMCPU) hopes to provide a way we can all work together in a coordinated and structured approach to have maximum effect across a range of issues. Ultimately, we aim to create a structured interaction between all the stakeholders within the community and work together on crime prevention issues.

The first step is through a regular newsletter, a communication medium aimed at bringing the community together by letting each stakeholder know what is happening across the district. The EMCPU is currently compiling the first newsletter and we encourage input from all areas within the community. Suggested items include safety tips, current community and police programs, school articles, N eighbourhood Watch updates, and other items of interest.

The newsletter will be available by email or hard copy from nominated outlets with the first edition ready in December. If you would like to submit an article, program details or idea for the newsletters or be included on the distribution list please email your details.

Please keep articles to a maximum of 500 words with one picture/photo for inclusion. The deadline for article submission for the first issue is COB 21st of November 2008.

If you require any further information, please either contact me by phone or email.
