Junior Football Club · 15th Year Reunion

The Gidgegannup Junior Football Club is having / celebrating its 15th year / reunion. It is on this Sunday the 24th at 12 o'clock.

There will be an under 12s derby between the 2 Gidge teams followed by a seniors game against Mt Helena. An Auskick game will be played at half time of the seniors game.

Past players and parents welcome. BBQ and bar facilities available.

Gidge plays Chidlow in Round 17 at Mundaring on Saturday 2nd August, Mundaring at home on Sunday 10th August, Bullsbrook on Sunday 17th August away, and Mt. Helena home on 24th August.

The Club is planning to host the Juniors on Sunday 24th August. The 12s to play prior to the game and the Auskickers at half time.

Formalisation of Barrier Closure of Gogulger Stock Route, Gidgegannup

Notice is hereby given under Section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995 that following public advertising of this proposal and no objections having been received the formalization of the existing barrier closure of the Gogulger Stock Route, Gidgegannup at the gate which is erected approximately 700 metres west of the intersection with OíBrien Road, is approved in accordance with Councilís resolution dated 2nd July 2008. This barrier closure will prohibit access by general vehicular traffic, while still allowing access by those owners whose properties abut the subject portion of road reserve and their invitees and by service/emergency authorities. Barrier closures can be uplifted at any time by a resolution of Council.

Item 4.1 Wastewater treatment facility Red Hill

The following recommendation was carried. That the Council resolve to:
  1. Advise the EMRC that it does not support the sale or lease of land for the purpose of constructing a wastewater treatment plant at Red Hill at this stage.
  2. Further advise the EMRC that the City's concerns with the proposal include uncertainty about factors such as the viability of piping treated effluent to the Swan Valley in terms of costs to end users; available volumes and seasonal variances of the treated effluent; the practicality of storing treated effluent in the Herne Hill quarry; the management of sewage spills; amenity of surrounding land use; o dour issues and the potential negative impacts being linked to the EMRC's Red Hill facility.

City of Swan acting chief executive Jim Coten said a need for a guest speakerís register had been raised and in response to that a Guest Speakers Register had been set up. In the first two weeks, 56 topics were covered.

The City of Swan is working with the Gidgegannup Playgroup and the Gidgegannup Agricultural Society to upgrade this area.

Both these groups and the Pre Primary/Primary at the School have received questionnaires to draw on/make comments.
