The Gidgegram was first established as a monthly newsletter sent to Gidgegannup Agricultural Society Members only.

Gidgegannup local and Agricultural Society stalwart John Lawrie named the publication ‘The Gidgegram’ in 1978.  The newsletter became so popular that over the years it has evolved into today’s 20-page publication and currently 1,250 copies are distributed by Australia post within the Gidgegannup postal area 6083 with further copies available for pick up from businesses in Gidgegannup, Mundaring, Stoneville, Mt Helena, Sawyers Valley, Chidlow, Wooroloo and Wundowie.  All Gidgegram editions are available online.

The aim of the Gidgegram is to provide the Gidgegannup community with local news and promote support for local businesses and clubs in a respectful, impartial manner.  Stories and reports of interest to the community are printed free of charge and production costs are supplemented by business advertising.

A comprehensive community contact list is always printed on page 19 and groups are encouraged to keep their details updated.

The Gidgegram is printed 10 months of the year, February to November.  It does not appear in December because of the Australia Post Christmas overload or in the January holiday period.

Advertising bookings can be made via the online Advertising and Information Booking Form and editorial submissions should be sent to by the deadline printed on Page 2 of each Gidgegram.
